The latest buzz about Aamir Khan is that he will be doing a Hindi film remake of a Tamil film. Apparently, the Bollywood superstar will be seen in the Hindi remake of Prakash Raj’s hit Tamil film Abhiyum Naanum. This critically-acclaimed 2008 film was produced by Prakash Raj and starred him and Trisha in the lead roles.
When we contacted Prakash Raj as to whether Aamir Khan would indeed be reprising his role in Hindi, the actor-producer said, “Yes” but refused to divulge more details on the project. The rumour is also that he would be directing the project in Hindi. The flick is being produced by Boney Kapoor and his official spokesperson said, “We are producing the film but not with Aamir Khan. We haven’t done the casting yet and can’t disclose anything now.”
Abhiyum Naanum showcases the emotional relationship between a father and daughter and was seen a milestone in Tamil cinema. The Tamil film was directed by Radha Mohan who has directed several films so far for Prakash Raj’s banner. We just have to wait and watch if Prakash Raj can recreate the magic in Hindi!
