Sun TV grabs Theri, VIP 2 rights
In the recent times, Sun TV has been bringing lots of good news for its viewers. It had gained satellite and broadcasting rights of latest and forthcoming big tickets of Kollywood. Now couple of movies is included in the league. It has been officially confirmed that Vijay starrer Theri and Dhanush’s Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2 (Vip 2) satellite rights have been acquired by Sun TV for around 24 crores. Since the agreement for digital rights with Amazon Prime Video is for 5 years, After 5 years, these movies will be available on Sun NXT too.
On the additional buzz, it is learnt that Kabali satellite rights will be soon with Sun TV. Initially, it was rumoured that the satellite rights of Kabali was clasped by Jaya TV. But it is refuted as baseless rumours and soon the official word on Sun TV rights will be revealed.
Atlee has directed Theri starring Vijay, Samantha and Amy Jackson in lead roles. GV Prakash had composed music for this film. Kalaipuli S Thanu produced the film that won huge profits in box office. It is noteworthy Sun Pictures is most likely to produce Vijay’s next with AR Murugadoss.
