This year started with Nanban and then Dhoni which strongly depicted the  negative aspects of our education system and now its time for Anbazhagan’s Saattai to whip our education system strongly and he does it really well. lets move to the review to find out what Saattai offer for us.

The film is all about how Dayalan(Samuthirakani) and his decisions which transforms a government school  which is having a poor track record to make it best in the district. The film is narrated completely in the point of view of Samuthirakani and he does his role with perfection. Director Anbazhagan sketched  his character with the analogy of a larger than life hero but Samuthirakani did in a realistic and convincing way. particulary his dialogue delivery gets a unanimous response from the audience.

Thambi Ramiah who grabbed our attention with Mynna acted as a cruel Assistant head master in this film ,Director sketched his character in Nambiarish way and he did his job well , but  over did in certain portion particularly in a villainy sequences. Yuvan who acted as a school student has to improve a lot while Mahima did her portion really well.

Another major plus for the movie is D Imman’s Music , man he is in  a Midas touch after Mynaa his Saahaiyane song and the Background score deserves a applause. Jeeva’s cinematography and Nirmal’s editing is crisp, Director Anbazagan surely deservers a special applause for attempting  a film with strong message, his Dialogues in the film is absolutely brilliant and he will go places for sure.

on the down side the film may appeal preachy for someone who needs entertainment but on the whole film delivers its message with a engaging screenplay go for it for a strong message delivered by the team.

Verdict: An artistic story told in a engaging screenplay.
