Mugamoodi – The first Super hero movie of India, and it comes from a director who is known for his raw and real narration and the man behind the Mask is Jiiva who desperately need a success after Ko, Let us see what Mugamoodi have for us.

 Plot:
Anand(Jiiva) aka Bruce Lee is a carefree youth, whose only interest is Kung fu , for him his master (selva) is the real hero, As like any other movie Jiiva falls in love with Pooja hedge on first sight, since his first impression is not good ,Jiiva tries to impress her with a super hero avatar. Meanwhile an underworld gang loots money across the country and invades chennai . The rest of the story deals with how Jiiva turn into a super hero and save the city from the underworld gang with the help of his Kung fu skills and scientist Grandfather(Girish Karnad)

Performance:

Jiiva fits the bill perfectly , be it the care free youth or the super hero role he did it with hundred percent perfection, his Kungfu skill comes as a handy in stunt sequences, Narain who plays the baddie role did a decent performance, his chemistry with the director is evident on the screen. Experienced Nasser who played the role of a commissioner ,Girish Karnad who played the role of scientist grandfather did their role with ease.

Technical value:

In the technical side, “K” deserves a sure appreciation ,especially the background score is too good and of course the songs are already a runaway hit among the youth. Cinematography by sathya & editing by Gaugin done a decent job, especially cinematographer’s work should be appreciated ,since most of the sequences are shot during night.Tony Leung Siu Hung’s stunt co-ordination is something new to Tamil cinema ,special applause for Mysskin & UTV team for bringing him all the way from Hong Kong, since the stunt sequences are up to  international standards.

Positives and negatives:

Mugamoodi’s major plus is Director Mysskin , his transformation from raw & real treatment to fantasy world is surely a added strength to the movie,The first half is laced up with humor, suspense and works pretty well, the negative point is that the second half  which lost its momentum here and there, some dialogues in the second half is found to be artificial . But Mysskin compensated everything with a good climax, which is very much important for a super hero flick.
Though the movie is not a cult classic ,but one should really appreciate these kind of new attempt in Tamil cinema.
