He might be busy with two directorial efforts (the Kannada remake of Poraali and a film with Jayam Ravi and Amala Paul), but director Samuthirakani is also bagging acting offers along the way. He has finished shooting for Sattai, in which he plays the lead, and is now acting in Seenuramasamy’s Neer Paravai.
Samuthirakani said that , “I was moved when Seenuramasamy told me the script and insisted that he cast me in it. And, he willingly gave me a powerful role that will forcefully convey the plight of the fishermen community. I play a Muslim character who runs a boat repairing workshop. It is almost an extended cameo as the character appears on screen only in six or seven scenes but it will create quite an impact.”
Meanwhile, the director-actor informs that he has also agreed to act in four other films after completing his directorial commitments. “I’m planning to act for 40 days at a stretch in these projects. I’ll take up crucial roles that regular actors have declined as I feel that they will showcase my potential better,” he adds.
