Vijay’s Thalaivaa which was scheduled for August 9th did not release in Tamil Nadu but was released worldwide. Producer Chandraprakash Jain and Director A.L.Vijay met the press today and requested the Tamil Nadu Govt to solve the issue regarding Thalaivaa release.
Chandraprakash Jain at the press meet says, I am a cinema producer and I have produced two films before and have a good name in this industry. I got the call sheet from Vijay for Thalaivaa after four years. I have produced this film with a huge budget, I promised the distributors that the film will be releasing on August 9th. But 2 days before the film release, some unknown people has threatened many theatres opposing Thalaivaa release, Due to the Bomb threat by those unknown people, theatre owners are scared to screen the film.
But on the same day, Thalaivaa got released worldwide other than Tamil Nadu and many pirated copies are been spread across the internet and now I am facing a huge loss in crores. And, if the film doesn’t release on August 16th I will be facing a huge loss and the distributors who have bought the film are also facing the loss. So, I kindly request our Honourable Chief Minister Miss J.Jayalalitha to look into this issue and make the film release on August 16th, adds Chandrapraksh Jain.
