Ganesh opposites shriya in Chandra. Ganesh Venkatraman is one actor whose career seems to be ascending steadily. Having already acted alongside top heroines of the industry like Trisha (Abhiyum Naanum/Aakasamantha) and Anushka (Damarukkam), the actor has now been signed on to play opposite Shriya for a Tamil-Kannada bilingual titled ‘Chandra’. Interestingly this will also be Ganesh’s Kannada debut.
The movie deals with the life of a last generation princess (essayed by Shriya) and the love story has two heroes. Popular Kannada actor Prem is one of the heroes.
Ganesh, who plays a charming and suave US-based NRI, is another hero. About selecting Ganesh, award-winning filmmaker Roopa Iyer says, “I wanted someone who was tall and handsome and also a powerhouse of an actor, for that particular US-based character, who would also be Shriya’s pair. Ganesh fitted the role to a T — exactly what I had conceived in my mind.” The film will be shot in America as well, as part of the story unfolds there.
Ganesh is equally thrilled about his new avatar! The former Gladrags Mr. India has been chosen to be the face of ‘Coimbatore Fashion Week’, the first ever high-profile fashion event in the cotton city.
Ganesh said, “I am really excited about *Chandra*! When Roopa narrated the script, it was fascinating and I immediately gave my nod.”
Ganesh’s upcoming releases are Pani Thuli (tamil) in July and Damarukkam(Telugu) with Anushka & Nagarjun in August.
