Mannar Vagaiyara and Madura Veeran skip Pongal release
It happens to the ritualistic moment when long queue of releases are announced for a festive occasion. Apparently, on the Spur of moment, we get to see that most of them back out of the league. In all likelihood, Pongal 2018 is not an exception as couple of movies have finally moved out of the race. It is none other than Vimal starrer Mannar Vagaiyara and Madura Veeran starring Shanmugapandiyan in lead role. It is worth mentioning that both these movies were the first ones along with Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Koottam to make its official announcement regarding Pongal release. Nevertheless, with Vikram’s Sketch making its last minute entry, the decisions of producers have apparently changed due to insufficiency of theatres.
So the final list of Pongal releases would be Suriya starrer Thaana Serndha Koottam, Vikram’s sketch and Prabhu Deva- Hansika Motwani starrer Gulaebaghavali. It is worth mentioning that Vishal- Samantha-Arjun starrer Irumbu Thirai was also planned as Pongal release. But it backed out due to the long pending phase of post-production works.
