Director Gautham Menon is busy shooting the Tamil and Telugu versions of his Neethaane En Ponvasantham (NEP) with Jiiva, Nani and Samantha, but it looks like Hindi version (Assi Nabbey Poore Sau) is on hold now. Apparently, the Bollywood production house, that was to fund the Aditya Roy Kapur film, pulled out of the project.
It looks like the debacle of Gautham’s Ekk Deewana Tha in Bollywood made the production house do a re-think. The director, supposedly, then went on to blame the choice of actors for this disaster which he stated later was a complete misquote.
A source tells that Gautham started work on the three versions on the same day with Jiiva, Ram and Aditya Roy Kapur. Then Nani replaced Ram, and the shoot continued for a while. It’s only after his Hindi film failed that problems started cropping up. The Bollywood production house wasn’t too happy and backed out of the assignment. The film has been on hold for a while now.
An official statement released recently stated that they have already identified an alternative production house which has agreed to fund the movie and it would release in 2013.
However, Gautham told “There are no issues with the production team, but when we resumed shooting, Aditya, who plays the lead, didn’t have the required dates. So, we decided to finish the Tamil and Telugu versions first.”
