Vishwaroopam, is a spy thriller film written, directed and co-produced by Kamal Haasan that features himself in the lead role. The film, also has Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose, Andrea Jeremiah and Jaideep Ahlawat in supporting roles. The soundtrack is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics by Vairamuthu. The film is being made simultaneously in Hindi as Vishwaroop.
Vishwaroopam was the first Indian film to be premiered first on DTH before its theatrical release. There were some supports and against for this idea on screening DTH first. While Theater Association were keen not to release opposing the idea of releasing movie first in DTH, here comes the official announcement from the Coimbatore theater association to support for Kamal idea on Vishwaroopam and releasing in more than 50 theaters in their areas.
They have also decided to take up this issue on screening before theatrical release after the pongal and that will be final decision for the upcoming movies. With the acceptance of Coimbatore Theater Association we can expect the official announcement from others too in a short while.
