The buzz in the industry is that director Shankar is joining hands with Vikram for the second time for a movie titled Therdal. The film is touted to be based on the electorial process in the country. Interestingly, the two had worked together in Anniyan, which went on to become a huge success at the BO.

A R Rahman is scoring the music and Kabilan has already written two songs for the film. The film will be dubbed and released in Telugu also as Vikram has a good fan following in Andhra also, sources say.

Vikram is currently working in director A L Vijay’s ‘Thaandavam’, with Anushka and Amy Jackson playing the female lead. The Shankar – Vikram film will go on floors once ‘Thaandavam’ is completed.

However, a close associate of Shankar rubbishes the reports, saying, “The news of Shankar doing Therdal with Vikram is false. He’s presently working on some scripts, and it will be a while before he zeroes in on one. Only after that is clear that Shankar will announce his cast and crew.”
The ace director, who last gave the industry a hit in his Vijay starred Nanban, is teaming up with writers SuBa (Suresh and Balakrishnan). The duo has earlier worked with K V Anand in Ko, which was again based on election!
