What started as an idea is now finally here. The world premiere of Vishwaroopam on DTH platform.
There were few in the industry who felt Kamal hassan’s approach would deter the future of tamil cimema but earlier today Kamal had met all of the
producers to discuss his idea and the producers felt kamal had a point and they have finally decided to give their support to him.
The biggest news in this would be the date of the premiers. Kamal has struck a deal with every other DTH service to release the movie 8 hours prior to the first theatrical show which means the movie would be released on the 10th of January on TV.
The rates suggested by Kamal and co are little higher than what one would normally expect. The charge is set to be around 1000rs for a house.
If Kamal sticks on to this rate there would be less takers for the movie on the platform. I feel anywhere around 500 would fetch these providers a dream number of viewers. one will have to wait and see what kamal does on the rates after all he is the master strategist.
Whatever one might think, the man who is known for breaking barriers in acting and direction has done it again. This time on the production side though. Three hurrahs to the man who has revolutionised the movie experience of general public cause people would prefer to sit back and watch movie on their TVs anyday during a festive than in a crowded theatre.
