Band Baaja Baraat, the Bollywood romance comedy flick was directed by debutant Maneesh Sharma which starred Anushka Sharma and newcomer Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. This flick is to be remade in Tamil and Telugu (Yet to be titled).
The film was declared as ‘Hit’ in Bollywood and following this, the production house ‘Yash Raj Films’ has roped in Nani to play the lead in the remake. Vani Kapoor who featured in Maneesh Sharma’s ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ will play the female lead. Director Gokul, an associate of Vishnuvardhan will take care of the direction. Music will be scored by Dharan Kumar and Cinematography will be done by S. Lokanathan of Ustad Hotel fame.
With this film, Yash Raj Film makes a start in kollywood and said that they will be doing series of projects in Tamil. The project is likely to be made with a huge budget by Yash Raj.
