The latest news is out now that director Venkat Prabhu’s next is with Karthi and has been titled Biryani. will have Ileana or Parineeti Chopra.
Parineeti, as we know is the cousin of Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, and she made her debut with Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun. In fact, her name was even being floated around for other projects. Says an industry source, “Since Samantha currently doesn’t have any dates and this film is likely to start in August, the filmmakers are looking for another actress. Apparently, they are keen on Ileana or Parineeti.”
But Parineeti Chopra has a three-film deal with the Mumbai production house that launched her and their contracts don’t allow their heroines to work outside their banner. (Remember the brouhaha that happened when Anushka broke her deal and worked with Akshay Kumar in Patiala House?) So though the filmmakers in Kollywood are keen to have this young actress on board for their films, it looks like it may be a long wait. Now, we just have to wait and see who has the dates and who will eventually sign up the Karthi project!
