“Katteri will bring a new variety of horror cinema to Kollywood” – Deekay
Filmmaker Deekay shot to fame for his couple of unconventional movies – Yaamirukka Bayamey (Horror-Comedy), which was first of its kind in the genre. Similarly, ‘Kavalai Vendam’ turned to be a new-age comedy caper laced with romance and emotions. Nonetheless, he got the spotlights turned upon him through his acting debut in Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Seethakaathi’. The film has garnered him decent response to his performance. Ask him whether he will continue to act in movies and he says, “I want my complete focus imparted on direction. I took up acting merely because of my friend Balaji Tharaneetharan asking me to do so. In case of my director friends suggesting me, I will wear the greasepaint for their sake.”
Getting on to speak about his upcoming directorial release ‘Katteri’, Deekay says, “Katteri will bring a new variety of horror cinema to Kollywood. There are lots of classifications in this genre and we have tried something new that will definitely attract the audiences between 6 and 60yrs age group. Moreover, I feel the satisfaction of making a perfect film when compared to my previous ones. I got a complete freedom from producers and am really happy about it. Producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja too mentioned the same after watching the first copy of this film.”
Director Deekay confirms the film is ready for release and they are looking out for a proper date to get it unveiled on big screens. The film features Vaibhav, Aathmika, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sonam Bajwa and Manaali Rathore in lead roles….
