Anirudh croons folk song for Kanaa

Music composer Anirudh has always been on the fast run over extending his token of friendship. It’s quite a rarity, where we don’t find many music directors often crooning for other musicians’ albums. But Anirudh has stepped out breaking the ice right from the beginning of his career. The young musician has now crooned a folk song composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas for Kanaa.

“It is a folk song involving a different panache. Usually the pianos and strings would be used for a melodious track. But we have included this in a folk genre for the first time. Of course, the regular ingredients like Thavil and Nathaswaram are an intriguing part of this track as well,” says Dhibu Ninan Thomas. Adding more on his experience of working with Anirudh, he says, “He is such a cool and recording the song with was such bliss. It was midnight as we had the process done at his studio.”

Filmmaker Arunraja Kamaraj is making his directorial debut with Kanaa, which is produced by Sivakarthikeyan for Sivakarthikeyan Productions. This folk song is pictured on Aishwarya Rajesh and Darshan. It’s a song where a boy tries to woo his sweetheart with beautiful phrases, which is penned by Arunraja Kamaraj.

Kanaa audio launch will happen on August 23 with Smriti Mandhana – Indian Women’s Cricket Team Captain gracing over the occasion along with D Imman, Anirudh and Pandiraj.
