AL Vijay on Vijay:
AL Vijay who is a childhood fan of Vijay says that the first day he skipped college was to see “Kadhalukku Mariyathai”. In the film Vijay’s dress code was T-Shirt & coolers. I followed Vijay’s dress code during my teenage period. I did not have any association with Vijay before; it only initiated after he appreciated me for Madrasapattinam and also said we should work together in the future.
The opportunity for Thalaivaa came through producer Chandra Prakash Jain. He requested me to narrate the story to Vijay hence I met Vijay and started of with the line “Thalaivan engira paddaththai naama thedi poga kudaathu, atha thaana namalaiththedi varanum” (we should not run behind the title “leader” it should come to us) within 15 minutes of hearing the rest of the story he smiled, shook my hand and gave me the assurance to go ahead!

AL Vijay on Sathyaraj & Amala Paul:
Sathyaraj will be playing a pivotal role in the film and I do not wish to break the suspense. He could be the godfather or maybe even be the villain, watch the film and find out.

We also tried to bring in Bollywood actress in the beginning but due to their call sheet constraints we could not sign any. It was Vijay in between our search who suggested the idea of casting Amala Paul in Thalaivaa. He watched Mohanlal’s “Run Baby Run” and said she performed well, she will fit in. We then agreed to bring her on board.
AL Vijay has also confirmed that unlike his few previous films, Thalaivaa will be a racy entertainer and will not have any tragic or slow screenplay. Thalaivaa will be a RDX!
