Mersal title retained with court’s decision
Finally, the good news arrives in a much bigger ‘Mersal’ style. Just now, the judgment involving Mersal title was announced and it has come in all favour of the team. Yes, the title ‘Mersal’ will be retained and there will be no more changes. This issue was raised before three weeks, where a producer owning the title ‘Naan Mersalaayitten’ had filed a suit against the producers of this big budget film. The Madras High Court had indeed posed an interim stay on using the title Mersal and the verdict was expected today. All the media channels and industry personnel curiously looking up for the judgment get the breaking news now.
So it looks like, the film will be releasing on October 18 as announced for the festive occasion of Diwali…
Moreover, the makers are applying for censor viewing shortly and the results can be expected any time sooner.
Mersal features Vijay in three different avatars with Samantha, Nithya Menen and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. SJ Surya, Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala and Sathyaraj are the others in the cast. AR Rahman has composed music for this film and GK Vishnu handles cinematography.
