VIP 2 spins big time collection in TN and Kerala
Dhanush fans had kept their anticipations upon Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2 and with 5 long weekend opening, it has made a decent opening. Soundarya Rajinikanth has directed this second instalment of VIP franchise, which opened last Friday. Although, the critical reception has been mixed, the movie has garnered good reception.
According to the trade reports, the opening weekend collection in Tamil Nadu box office is approximately 18Crore following which 2-long continuous holiday paved way for more collections (Monday – Krishna Jayanthi and Tuesday – Independence Day) leading to 25Cr Gross Collection. In Kerala, the film has leaped up with 4Crore BO collection. It is worth mentioning that it is the first ever Dhanush movie in Kerala to make such an impact.
Kalaipuli S Thanu and Dhanush together have produced Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2. Bollywood actress Kajol has performed the other lead role here with Sean Roldan composing music.
